While further exploring electro-acoustic territory, the two artists i AM esper and Mystified decided to collaborate. i AM esper is known for playing humming baritone guitar drones, and Mystified, more recently, for creating ambient drone textures from trombone notes. i AM esper laid down 5 nice tracks and Mystified remixed them, re-composing and processing the sounds. The result, Treetrunk feels, is quite powerful, covering emotions from total bliss to deep despair. Somehow the use of "real" instruments has brought these feelings out. Or perhaps it was the musicians themselves. Some references might be made to My Bloody Valentine on a track or two, for those who know of their music.
Don't miss this one!

To Give Credit
I had noticed that neither of the reviews here explicitly credited Mystified's collaborator, i AM esper. Esper initiated the collaboration, and provided raw guitar tracks to be used as sound material in the mixes. The final mixes would not sound the same without the input from Esper. Just wanted to give credit where it is due-- I am sorry other reviewers did not mention this.

Disintegrating Perception
This offering from Mystified is the most impressive collection of sounds since Music for Airports! The scope and ambition that he pursues is breathtaking. The first track initiates what I can only describe as a fundamental alteration of hearing. The industrial guitars, the subtle but symphonic gathering of chromatic chords must be heard to be truly appreciated. I cannot translate this into words. Each track will reward the listener with possibilities - which is the essence of Ambient. Please listen...

Awesome Drones
This drone collaboration features well-orchestrated drone textures, ranging from throbbing bass to ethereal shimmers, the sources being processed sound from guitar and trombone. Very successfully done!
